From AP to Zenith, 15 stylish watches prove green is the color of the moment From Patek Philippe to Ressence, green dials have penetrated into every field from high-end complex watches to diving watches.
Peach fuzz may be Pantone's color of the year, but the watch industry is mired in the green establishment. It's a sporty yet versatile color that looks great paired with most other shades as well as steel or gold cases. On the watch dial, it forms a clear background against white, black or gold markings. Stylistically, it's bold enough to be considered a flexible design, and unlikely to be anything more than a passing fantasy: Green watches have transformed from an emerging trend into a full-blown genre. Here are 15 current watches with green dials, bezels, straps and cases.
Blancpain Villeret Quantième Perpétuel This perpetual calendar dial is inspired by the spruce forests of Le Brassus, the Swiss village where Blancpain is headquartered and surrounded by the Jura Mountains. The gold-applied hour markers and hands blend perfectly with the green, as does Blancpain’s signature Friendly Moon.
Patek Philippe World Traveller Ref. 7130R The Ladies World Time is the latest model in Patek Philippe’s line of 24-city time zone watches, which dates back to the 1930s. Although Patek Philippe has been producing them for a long time, they were produced in very limited quantities and remain rare. Here, the signature guilloché central dial displays an olive green woven pattern that complements the rose gold case. The bezel is set with 63 diamonds.
Hublot Big Bang Unico Green SAXEM Big Bang Unico Green SAXEM stands for Sapphire Aluminum Oxide and Rare Earth Minerals and is Hublot’s exclusive sapphire crystal. Like sapphire, it is transparent, so you can see the HUB1280 flyback chronograph movement through the side of the case. The integrated rubber strap matches the green case perfectly, as does the luminescence on the hands.
Zenith Chronmaster Sport The all-green version of the Chronomaster Sport makes a fashion statement without compromising the aesthetics of the watch’s iconic three-color subdials. Green coexists with gray and blue subdials, but does not conflict. This is a more accessible version of the Chronomaster Sport Aaron Rogers limited edition watch launched last fall.
TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Glass Case Tourbillon The Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon was launched in 2023 with a blue dial, but this turquoise monochrome version changes it up completely. The dial is 42mm wide and the bezel is very narrow, which is a beautiful element of the vintage-style Carrera design. With the glass box crystal, the dial becomes a large canvas with plenty of room for the colors to have a dramatic impact. It’s powered by the new Heuer 02-TH20-09 movement developed by movement director Carole Forestier-Kasapi, so you know the technical aspects are top-notch.
MB&F LM Split Escapement EVO This version of EVO is created for the Taipei market, where MB&F recently opened a gallery. The design of the watch shows a flying balance wheel floating above the dial, while the pallet fork and escapement wheel are located below (hence: "split escapement"). Green subdials and day and date rings also float strikingly above the dial.
Ressence Type 3 EE Eucalyptus The Type 3 is unique in its crownless case and edge-to-edge sapphire crystal. The dial with the system of rotating discs that indicates the time now comes in eucalyptus green, transcending traditional design and making a fashion statement. All indicators are treated with Super-LumiNova so they glow green in the dark.
Omega constellation meteorite According to Omega, the meteorite dial on this watch is 4.5 billion years old. Each piece is unique as it retains its natural pattern, and this piece is green with a green ceramic bezel printed with Roman numerals. The 41 mm stainless steel case is powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Caliber 8900.
H. Moser & Cie Streamliner Tourbillon Wyoming Jadeite The Emerald Streamliner covers three current trends: the return of the tourbillon, green and mineral dials. The jade is cut into slices just 1.5mm thick, then ground and polished by hand.
Breitling Chronomat Victoria Beckham The limited edition of 1,500 pieces launched in February to rave reviews. It's a unisex 36mm interpretation of one of Breitling's landmark heritage watches, a sporty-chic interpretation, and comes in a bold mint green color. Victoria Beckham's initials appear on the counterweight of the seconds hand and on the ribbed metal bracelet.
Seiko SBGH343 Grand Seiko's designs are often inspired by nature and the Japanese custom of celebrating 24 seasons, rather than just four. This theme is based on "Qingming", which means "clear and bright" and refers to the beginning of April - when the warm spring breeze and sunshine illuminate the budding leaves. 38m titanium case, powered by high frequency (36,000 vph) 9S85 movement.
Aurora can be seen everywhere in Krayon The colors on this dial were created using an ALD (Atomic Layer Deposition) process, overlaid on a surface engraved with a spiral pattern to achieve a 3D effect. This complication calculates the precise moments each day when the sun rises and sets at the location chosen by the wearer. The green version comes in a lightweight 39mm titanium case.
Bell & Ross BR 03-92 dive watch The black, green and bronze divers are a special edition of 999 pieces. In contrast to the brand's usual aviation-related pieces, the nautical theme includes a bronze case that, once oxidized, will look great along with the dial as it will take on some green tones. Green and white are colors that are highly visible underwater, making them ideal for watches that can be used for diving to 1,000 metres.
Audemars Piguet code 11.59 The first stainless steel model, the 11.59, launched earlier this year includes a model with an olive green dial. The embossed ripple pattern was created specifically for Code 11.59. The wave pattern moves outward from the center of the dial and is engraved with hundreds of small holes that interact with light. The greens are made using the PVD process.
Bulgari Lucia Bulgari’s latest Lucea watch features a malachite dial with a unique shape. Rather than using slices like a traditional mineral dial, it has malachite fragments set on the dial in a marquetry style. These malachite fragments were recycled from when Bulgari made other watches. The dial is set with 12 diamond hour markers and the bezel is set with 56 diamonds.
